A Bangkok Beauty Haul and shopping guide to kick off 2016! And no, you aren’t having major dejavu. I managed to end up in Bangkok again (exactly one year later!) and of course there’s a beauty haul to prove it. We spent two solid days out exploring the city visiting malls, shopping squares and markets and it’s safe to say that my luggage came home quite a bit heavier as a result.
If you haven’t already read my guides to shopping in Thailand click here and here (especially if you are heading over there soon!), and you can check out my 2015 Bangkok beauty haul by clicking here or the image below.
♥ First stop, Sephora!
Surprising, I didn’t have a makeup wish list for this trip. I really just wanted to have a good wander round and pick up a couple of products which caught my eye. I visited two Sephora stores, one in Central World and one in Siam Centre. The staff in the Central World store were incredible, but the Siam Centre store is larger and seemed better stocked. Neither stock any Kat Von D products, which was disappointing, however of course I didn’t leave empty handed. Don’t forget, Sephora is now available online in NZ, so you can easily get any of these products that I grabbed.
Sephora purchases: Beautycleanser Solid, Urban Decay All-nighter setting spray, Sephora eye masks, Stila Liquid Eyeliner in ‘Midnight’, NYX eyeshadow trio ‘Love in Rio’, Sephora sleeping masks, Eyeko Black Magic mascara and Super Supreme body butter samples.
♥ Eve and Boy
I’ve said it before, Eve and Boy is the drugstore makeup mecca. There is seriously no other place that has such a range of products and brands and I like that the two story Siam Square store also has not only cosmetics but hair, skin and body products too. Along with brands like NARS and Maybelline which are well known all around the world they stock lesser known Asian brands which are so fun to discover. Don’t go after school has just finished… you’ll have to battle past large groups of teenage girls to get anywhere near the shelves.
Eve and Boy purchases: Pantene 3 minute miracle conditioner, Ashley Blush ‘meteorites’, Murad Clarifying Cleanser, Maybelline Super BB, Mint Julep peel off masque, Sivanna Colours Peach Bean Blusher, Bioderma Micellaire, Maybelline the hyper curl volume express, Blushing hearts triple baked blusher ‘Candy queen of hearts’, My lip tint pack ‘bubble pink’, Sivanna Colours eyeshadow and eyebrow kit and Odbo beauty palette.
♥ Forever 21
Although Forever 21 is mainly a clothing store, they have some fantastic accessories and handy bits and bobs. I actually walked out with more accessories than clothes from there. Forever 21 is in Central World and Siam Centre.
Forever 21 purchases: Makeup sponges and blow dry sectioning clips.
I could spend hours and hours in this shop! As a pharmacy this place has many items which are your usual household essentials and then tonnes of makeup, health and beauty products at super good prices. They always have amazing sales and their own Watsons brand products are awesome value.
Not just for slushies and snacks! To fulfil the the Thais love of beauty products even 7/11 has a little beauty stand. This is the place to grab little one use/sample size face masks to try out….. and a bit of candy to keep you busy while your mask dries.
Left – Watsons products, Right – 7/11
You can probably guess that I had a fantastic time in Bangkok to finish off my South East Asia holiday! I’d love to hear from you about your favourite places to shop overseas, also please ask questions if you are heading over there for a getaway soon! Also – if you want product reviews of anything in particular, let me know!
