Yesterday I received my mini NYX haul from Cherry Culture. I needed a few NYX bits and bobs and was impressed that Cherry Culture had the cheapest prices out of a lot of different make up sites (including the official NYX online store!). They also ship to NZ for a reasonable price, so there was no YouShop hassle. My order took about three days to be processed and then shipping took around 5 days from the US to my door step. They quote their basic non tracking shipping to take between 8-17 days, so I was really happy with the time frame. In a nut shell, based on this experience I will definitely use them again and would totally recommend them, but anyways, on to the products!
I purchased the following things:
- Auto eyebrow pencil in Light Brown and Taupe
- Lip liner pencil in Purple Rain and Dolly Pink
- Wonder pencil in Light
- Jumbo eye pencil in Milk
- Blush in Taupe
To quickly get the negative out of the way, the eyebrow pencils are really not my fav. The shades are nice and natural but the actual pencil is hard and tough, rather than a nice smooth sliding pencil for your brow. I swatched both pencils and had to scrap them across my palm several times to get some colour and it was painful! They are obviously not going anywhere near my face.
On another note, everything else it amazing! The lip liners are smooth and creamy. Purple Rain goes perfectly with my MAC Heroine and Up the Amp, and Dolly Pink is the bets match I have come across so far for my MAC Saint Germain.
The wonder pencil is such a great multi-purpose little guy, I’v used it as a concealer and a water line pencil so far and everything turned out roses. Its a good colour match and it really is as versatile as they say – get it!
The blush I haven’t tried it, but I have high hopes. Why did a pale lass like me get such a dark shade you ask? That’s because I am going to use it as a contour, watch this space! And the Jumbo pencil is one of my all time favourites, click here for my full review on it.
All in all, I’m happy with Cherry Culture and happy with my NYX products apart from those odd eye brow pencils. Who has used them before? What did you think of them? Please throw any handy tips my way =)
