Last week I had a Colourpop haul arrive via YouShop. I decided to use YouShop to ship my Colourpop products to NZ because the Colourpop shipping price was way too expensive! There were mixed reviews online about whether using YouShop would actually end up any cheaper, and I was a little concerned about the length of time the package would take to get to me. After a few tiny hiccups however, I have a bunch of new beautiful Colourpop products to play with.
♥ Shipping cost and time
I made my Colourpop purchase on the 22nd of June and received a confirmation email straight away. My parcel was then shipped (for free as it was shipping within the US to the YouShop Warehouse in Portland) on the 25th. I received an email telling me that my parcel had been delivered on the 28th. So the Colourpop shipping service within America took 7 days and I was notified at every step, which I think is pretty excellent service!
I wasn’t contacted by YouShop until late in the day on the 1st of July to say that they had received my package. Obviously I was a little concerned over the few days between the 28th and the 1st as I was unsure as to where my parcel was. I understand that there is often some time between the arrival and processing of the parcels at the YouShop warehouse, but I think 3-4 days is a little too long.
I logged on straight away, completed all the information required and paid for my shipping. The parcel was shipped the following day on the 2nd and arrived at my house on the 7th. During the shipping process I received notification emails to let me know when it was shipped and on its way, when it had arrived in NZ and also when it had been delivered to my address. Apart from the delay in processing, the shipping was fast.
♥ Shipping cost
Colourpop set shipping from them to NZ at $25.00 USD/ 34.32 NZD, however YouShop cost me $17.25 NZD which is 50% less than the Colourpop shipping. This bought my total costing for the haul at $53.25 NZD for 7 products and shipping via YouShop.
♥ What I got
The three Super Shock Shadows above are ‘So Quiche’, ‘LaLa’ and ‘Bill’. If you feel like you’ve seen LaLa on here before you are totally right! I accidentally repurchased it, although I’m not sad about it as the copper shade is super pigmented and buttery so I know I’ll use it when the first runs out. So Quiche caught my eye firstly due to the name (Ja’mie anyone?) and then secondly because of the glitter. It’s a pretty olive shade with gold and pink shimmers. Bill has a matte finish and is a pinky plum tone. It is something I would usually wear but I love the finish so I’m keen to give it a go.
The three lip products I purchased include two Lippie Stix’s, ‘Boa’ and ‘Lumiere’, and an Ultra Matte Lip, ‘Clueless’. Boa is a matte pastel pink/lilac which is one of my classic shades and Lumiere is a mauve pink created by Katherine Lights. Boa reminds me a lot of MAC ‘Saint Germain’ and is a really nice and smooth formula. Lumiere is a little similar to the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra-Matte Liquid Lipstick ‘Serenity’. Clueless has been mega popular and is currently sold out. I do wonder if this is because it has been hailed as a dupe for Kylie Jenner’s ‘Candy K’. Also, it’s a really pretty dusty pink with a great formula.
My final purchase was one of the new Brow Pencils, I was really keen to see if this could be a dupe for my favourite Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz. It’s a very similar style to Brow Whiz with the double ended pencil including a brush. The actual crayon is a little firmer, meaning you have to push a little harder on your skin to get the colour but the application is exactly the same. I got the shade Honey Blonde, however I would prefer something more ashy and less warm. Next time I would order the ‘deep taupe’ shade.
♥ In future, I would definitely use YouShop again rather than paying the highly priced Colourpop shipping. Although if you are to use YouShop you need to be prepared to wait a little while if there are delays. I’d love to know about your experiences with Colourpop and YouShop, share them below!
