DB Cosmetics Long Wear 24 Hour foundation review

Long wear 24 hour foundation DB cosmetics I recently decided to pick up my first ever DB Cosmetics product after seeing it in a local store a few times and hearing some positive things about their Long Wear Foundation over on MUO. I’ll be honest, I was pretty unsure about it all as I’ve never heard much about the brand, haven’t seen much advertising for it and also it isn’t stocked in many locations. But I did know that it is pretty popular over in Australia and Britney Saunders had even done a tutorial just using the one brand – so I wandered over to the stand and went for the 24 Hour Long Wear Foundation, mostly because I was wanting full coverage and I liked the bottle (it reminds me of the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation bottle and turns out many people think the DB foundation is a dupe for that!)

On first impressions I loved that the product is vegan, cruelty free, includes some nice skin assisting ingredients like aloe vera extract and nothing nasty like parabens. I also love that it’s only $16.99. The packaging is sleek and also secure (I hate it when lids don’t seal properly!) and the actual product has a pleasant kind of creamy foundation smell.

In regards to application this blends on like a dream. I use a beauty blender to bounce and dab it on my face and it goes on really smoothly. It is full coverage like the bottle says, but it’s customisable. You could go for a lighter full coverage if you wanted or build it up. I like to go for a lighter full coverage all over and then just build up in my trouble areas like to cover any redness on my chin. It settles on my face really nicely and doesn’t sit into fine lines even without use of a primer, which really impressed me. The finish is really lovely with a bit of a glow. However oily skinned people who prefer matte, don’t let this put you off because it controls oil like a boss!

I’ve worn this for regular work days and also a few big nights out and it works perfectly both ways. It didn’t budge even the tiniest bit when I wore it out to a gig a few weekends ago where I danced for hours on end and it withstands the cold wind and rain. Yesterday I legit chose to wear this over my MAC foundation……

♥ Pros: It’s affordable and does what it says it does. Long wearing, full coverage and not cakey or heavy at all. It’s definitely my current go to.

♥ Cons: It only seems to be available in four colours, so it might be tough to find a match. Nude Beige is perfect for me and thats the 2nd to lightest shade.

♥ Tips: Apply with a damp beauty blender and build to the coverage you want. I finish mine off with my MAC studio fix powder and it lasts until I want to remove it.

Have you tried DB Cosmetics before? I’d love to get some recommendations of other products from them I should try!

  • Wow, i had no idea DB was cruelty free. That is a huge incentive for me to pick this up, and try it out! However, with only four shades available, i doubt my shade will be available, but my fingers are crossed!!

    • I was really happy to read that DB was cruelty free! But you’re right, four shades is quite limited unfortunately.
