Exfoliating Swipeys from Go-To Skincare

exfoliating swipeys Exfoliating Swipeys from Go-To Skincare are single use face pads which exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin cells with AHAs. I have been really curious about chemical exfoliation recently because I love the feeling of a freshly scrubbed face (after using a mechanical exfoliator, something with rough, scratchy bits), but have often wondered how great it really is to be scrubbing the shit out of my skin. Sure, it feels nice and it makes my skin look good, but there must be a better way?

Morgan over at Hycinthgirl does a great job of explaining the benefits of chemical exfoliation and how it all works. So if you want to get a little into the science click here to read her article. After reading her article and then chatting to my friend Lena from Lena Loves Beauty I decided to give Go-To Skincare a try. I loved the idea that the Swipeys include some natural ingredients, are cruelty free and also the convenience of a pad that is all set to go was really appealing too.

I’ve been using the Swipeys for about three and a half weeks now and am already seeing and feeling some positive effects. Go-To Skincare recommends using the product 2 -3 times a week, I have been using them every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night. You grab just one pad and wipe it around your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave the product on for a moment or two (I grab my toothbrush and get ready to brush) and then rinse it off. You use the Exfoliating Swipeys after cleansing and before applying moisturiser or any serums/oils. After rinsing, my face feels fresh and clean, theres no dryness or any irritation.

Getting rid of dead skin cells means that any products you use have a better chance of really getting into your skin and doing what they are suppose to do. There’s no gross flakey old skin getting in the way. I have been applying my favourite Trilogy Rosehip oil after using the Swipeys.

At first I noticed that the oil was going on more smoothly than usual and that my skin actually felt a lot smoother. Now three and a half weeks in my skin is smoother on a day to day basis and I haven’t had a breakout out since I started using the Swipeys. My skin seems a bit brighter when I’m not wearing makeup too. I don’t get the redness which I usually have after mechanically exfoliating and I like that I can apply my rose hip oil straight afterwards and let it soak into fresh skin. I’ve never had such positive results from a traditional exfoliator with rough bits in it like mircobeads.

I think I’m a chemical exfoliating convert.

The fab people at Go-To Skincare sent me the Exfoliating Swipeys to try out, but as soon as I run out I will be on their website www.gotoskincare.com buying some more. A jar of Exfoliating Swipeys cost $49.95 for 50 pads – so that’s like $1 a pad and for me $3 a week. I think thats a great price for the results I am getting, including clearer and brighter skin as well as allowing my rose hip oil do its job even better than before.

Have you tried any chemical exfoliation products before?
