February Favourites

IMG_0855

I have been super lucky lately with the fact that so many of the products I have tried recently have turned out to be major successes. Hence I am back into my monthly favourites with a real bang! February sees quite a range of mostly new (for me) beauty products and also a few rediscoveries. Let’s get into it!!

♥ Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water // There has been so much hype surrounding this product and I am here to tell you that it is all true, this stuff is amazing. Never have I tried something which takes off all my makeup as well as leaving my face freshly cleansed and clean, without that too clean squeaky feeling. I don’t want to say too much as my full review will be up very soon – look out for this baby this month in selected supermarkets, pharmacies and Farmers. RRP $12.99

Go-To Skincare Exfoliating Swipeys // My beauty blogging friends Lena and Morgan have long praised the effects of chemical rather than manual exfoliation and I decided it was time for me to get into the game. I have been using these for one week so far and am already seeing an improve in the texture of my skin. They are so easy to use and aren’t painfully harsh like a few other chemical exfoliants I’ve tried. Full review coming soon (once I’ve used them for a little longer)! $49.95

♥ MAC Oil-Control Lotion // Recommended by my MUA friend Sophie this little baby saved my life while I was in Thailand. It stops any of that after midday shine, keeps your face looking and feeling completely oil free and doesn’t clog up your pores. Everyone with skin leaning towards oily, needs this! Sized-to-go bottle $10.00 USD

♥ Naked Basics // Although I so probably didn’t need this, already owning Naked 2 & 3 I went for it and am loving it. The travel size is just so handy and the shades are perfect for everyday/work looks. For swatches and more info click here for my full review and comparison. $29.00 USD

♥ Daiso Japan Detergent for Puff and Sponge // Not only one of my favourites, but probably my best bargain of the year so far is this little makeup sponge and Beauty Blender cleaner. I will never again wash with Baby Shampoo after seeing the results from this detergent – my Beauty Blender hasn’t looked this clean since the day I bought it. $3.50 Queen Street, Auckland

♥ Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit shade ‘Banana’ // Some of you may remember from my full review of the kit (read it here) that I wasn’t really a big fan of the contour kit, especially the darker contouring shades. I decided to give the lighter shades another go and met the shade ‘Banana’ with welcome arms. This powder sets my under eye concealer really nicely with a slight highlighting sheen. I am so happy that I am finally getting some use out of this palette! $40.00 USD

So, what’s been your favourite product this past month??

  • Everyone is talking about the go to swipes it seems! Being an Australian brand I think I should try.

    • They are so good! I think chemical exfoliation is going to become quite the skin care trend, so it’s totally worth giving a go!

  • Love this! So want to try the Garnier cleansing water! I am so heartbroken. I seem to have misplaced my contour palette. I’m like you, not a huge fan of the dark contour shades but liked banana!

    • Please do try it! It makes life so quick and easy, however I have been to sooo many supermarkets and haven’t seen it anywhere. I hope you find your contour palette. The darker shades are growing on me now that I’ve realised that they blend much better on powder (so foundation then setting powder then the contour shade).
