Festival Makeup Inspiration – throwback!

Summer festivals are the perfect excuse to try out something new and a bit more ‘out there’ in regards to your makeup. It’s also a great way to get totally immersed in the whole vibe of the day. Over the summer with different events it’s often my makeup look that I change up a bit to be in theme – it’s easy to do (with a bit of practice) and I usually already have all the tools and supplies I need. Today I have complied a bundle of different and cool festival makeup looks which also incorporate some great hair styling ideas too. It’s totally up to you to decide whether to go all out with you face, hair, outfit and accessories or to just add some extra detail to your regular eye makeup with a touch of sparkle or flowers.

Vanessa Hudgens is the princess of festival looks, she always looks totally in theme, yet effortless. I really like how her makeup is simple and really clean with a flawless finish, light colour on the cheeks and perfectly groomed brows. The touch of white at the inner eye is cute and the detailing in red with little stick on’s is simple but effective. I feel like this would be a good look if  you’re in for a long day as it wouldn’t need any touching up as long as those little silver bits stay in place.

♥ Tip! It’s best to apply any little details or diamante’s with either eyelash glue or spirit gum. Make sure the part of your skin you are sticking something to isn’t irritated in anyway and is clean and dry before going ahead.

Flower crowns are right at home at any kind of summer festival. These looks with a simple base and natural lip, but a bit of interest added around the eyes are super easy  and quick to achieve

Or go all out with the flower power vibe and add some to your face. You’ll need a fine tipped brush and some face paints, or you could even have a go with coloured pen style eye liners instead. Make sure you try out the paint in the days leading up to your event as some skin types can react badly to it.

On the topic of colour, just selecting something a little brighter or more outside the box can make a huge difference. I really love the blue above surrounding the whole eye – and again the rest of the face is kept pretty and simple.

If glitter is more your thing then there are lots of easy ways to bling it up. Benefit now offer this Bling Brow kit which is perfect for adding some sparkle to your eye brows or around your eyes. The bling is adhesive and the kit comes with a handy pair of tweezers .

This glitter lower eyeliner look was used in a Chanel runway show and there’s actually so many difference occasions that I would love to wear this at. However it could be a little fiddley, and I feel like you would just have to except that you would eventually just end up with glitter all down your face.

I’ve got a few events coming up where I am going to debut some of these festival looks – I’ll share them on Instagram and Twitter so make sure you are following me! I’d love to see all your festival looks too!
