Makeup cravings (or addictions)

I’m having makeup cravings. There’s really no rhyme or reason, and I didn’t just win the lottery either. I just want all the makeup. Two nights this week I have sat on the couch filling up online shopping carts and then having a little laugh to myself when either I see the total cost in USD, or I see the shipping price to get the goods to NZ. To date, I have made one actual purchase based on these cravings and currently have two full shopping carts open in my browser. I’m also tweeting my makeup friend Elese, as she has offered to let me ship some things to her place in Australia which she will forward over to me. As I said, makeup cravings, major ones….

♥ So, lets start with the purchase I have actually made. I have been procrastinating over this shopping cart from Beauty Bay for almost three months and finally clicked ‘buy’. It’s for three products which I consider makeup essentials, a Beauty Blender, a Brow Whiz from Anastasia Beverly Hills and a Stila Liquid Liner. These are three products I have used for a long time and absolutely love.  BeautyBay haul

Beauty Bay is great because it has a wide range of brands, many of which can be difficult to get in NZ for reasonable prices. They ship directly to NZ (shipping is free once you spend over $29 AUD) and you can shop in different selected currencies. The only thing is that waiting for the products to come over from the UK can be killer. However, it’s reliable and everything is packed safely.

♥ I’ve also been a little obsessed with Korean beauty products recently, stemming from the amazing package my bestie sent me full of Korean goodies straight from the source (click here to see all the pretty things!). Suddenly I had a little stash on Beauty Net Korea of makeup and skincare products that I really want to try out. Shipping is free, fast and includes little free samples of different products. There’s a huge range of products from all the well known Korean beauty brands like ETUDE House, Tony Moly and The Face Shop. You’ll also see that they often sell the products in sample and trial sizes too which is great for trying out a bunch of different products and brands.  Beautynetkorea

I haven’t 100% figured out the credit system yet, but if you have an account with them and do a few purchases your credits seem to add up and you get discounts on your total purchase cost. I usually end up with a discount of about $5 USD.

♥ Now I’m also trying to justify the shipping costs of ordering some products from Colour Pop Cosmetics. Their products are so awesome and so damn affordable piece by piece (that is, before shipping). I have a few of their eye shadows already and am a big fan of the pigmentation and quite like having the single shadows. I’ve also had my eye on some of the matte liquid lipsticks for awhile.

I currently have 10 items in my cart totalling in at $54 USD ($76 NZD), but the shipping is $42 NZD!!! I remember seeing something about Colour Pop introducing a fixed flat rate for shipping overseas and I really wish they would hurry up and implement that because I just think it is way too much. At the point I am looking at using YouShop, an NZ shipping forwarding service, because I think that will work out quite a lot cheaper.

♥ Lastly, for now that is, I am really wanting to dabble in some Too Faced products. I am kicking myself Too Faced Natural Eyes for not buying a few things from the brand when I was last at Sephora. It’s the Natural Eyes eye shadow palette that I’ve got my eye on specifically, but the more I look into the brand the more I fall in love with. There’s the famous Better Than Sex mascara and the Born This Way foundation that I may just have to throw in there as well.

I’m super lucky that a friend offered to post me the products I want because the brand is practically impossible to get in NZ!

So, please, tell me I’m not the only one!
