The Maybelline Super BB and the Hyper Curl Volum’ Express mascara are two of my favourite purchases from my most recent Thailand shopping haul. I purchased both of them on a whim during one of my mega sprees at Eve&Boy. The Super BB originally caught my eye because the stand was insanely crowded by Thai teenagers who were practically ripping the product off the shelf. I decided on the Hyper Curl Volum’ Express because it was the first mascara I had seen which labelled as ‘easy wash’ something I knew my sensitive eyes would love.
Super BB is described as an 8 in 1 cream. In my opinion the best benefits of this BB Cream is that it contains SPF 50 and is very high coverage. It has the coverage of a medium to high coverage foundation but doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Super BB leaves a very flawless, slightly matte finish and lasts on my face for a whole work day. Although I find I do need to blot the oil off my face once it gets to the afternoon. There weren’t any shade guides at the store, so I ended up picking one at random out of the two available and it turned out to be a perfect match. I got the lighter of the two, 01 Natural.
As far as I can tell Super BB by Maybelline is currently only available in stores in Asia. It seems really popular not only in Thailand, but also in Manila. However, it is available online on ebay if you don’t mind waiting for shipping. BeautyMNL also have a great review on the Super BB and talk more about it’s pollution protecting benefits.
The Hyper Curl Volum’ Express is a sleek looking mascara which promises to thicken and curl lashes for up to 24 hours. It’s a best selling Maybelline product in Malaysia. I’ve always been a fan of Maybelline mascaras as they come in such a large range, aren’t fiddly or difficult to use and their black shades are always a true dark black. This Hyper Curl mascara definitely does give a nice curl to the lashes with the help of its curved brush and makes my lashes look thicker and more bold. It’s a really nice day time mascara, it enhances the lashes without being overly dramatic. Also you only need a coat or two to see the effects.
As I mentioned above this mascara is labelled as ‘easy wash’. I tend to mostly stay clear of waterproof mascaras as I sometimes react to them and also hate having to harshly rub my eyes to remove makeup at the end of the day. I was concerned that being easy wash the mascara would smudge or transfer easily, but in fact it’s the total opposite. The Hyper Curl doesn’t end up under my eye or on my brow bone, it comes off only when I want it to which I love! And it certainly is easy wash, it comes off straight away when washing my face gently with my usual cleanser.
Again, it seems that this Maybelline product is mostly aimed at Asia, however through having a look online it does look like it is also available in America and you can find it on ebay.
Have you tried either of these Maybelline products? What is currently your favourite Maybelline product?
