I recently ended up with a mini MAC haul after deciding it was time to stock up on some essentials. I needed a new Pro Longwear Foundation and wanted a new Pro Longwear Concealer in a slightly darker shade. I hadn’t done any online shopping in awhile so after spending some time on Nordstrom I made an order with two extra additions, a new lipstick in the shade ‘Brave’ and a Lavender Fix+ Spray from the Work It Out collection. The Kira Kira Crate from Japan Crate is one of their 4 different subscription crates which you can order as a one off or as a monthly subscription. The Kira Kira Crate is a Japanese beauty box which ships out each month containing a range of 6-8 different beauty products. I have tried quite a few different beauty subscription boxes in the past and always find them a fun delivery and also a great way to try new products. The last international beauty box I ordered was a Meme Box which is based on Korean beauty products so I was keen to see how these Japanese goodies would compare! Continue reading
The Stila Stay All Day Foundation is an oil free formula which is said to provide medium coverage with a matte finish which ‘stays all day’. Before being introduced to this product my only experience with Stila was being a massive fan of their Stay All day Liquid Liner. Years ago a makeup artist used this foundation on me and I loved the finish along with it’s staying power, so I picked up the Stay All day Foundation, Concealer and Brush Kit during one of my Thailand hauls. But for some reason I only very recently opened it up to use after I found my MAC Pro Longwear completely empty. I’m gutted I didn’t start using it earlier because it fits my skin like a glove!!! This weekend, popular online makeup store Beauty Bliss opened it’s Auckland store in NewMarket. The opening kicked off with an event on Saturday with goodie bags for the first 20 people through the door, cupcakes and product demonstrations.
One of my best friends and I decided to head in to check it all at what we thought was an early time to maybe have a chance at a goodie bag. But turns out some girls had been there since 3am with more arriving to line up at 5am! We went and had breakfast and checked out a few other stores before lining up to get inside. It’s not often I head in to NewMarket so it was good to have a wander around. Continue reading
I’ve been straightening my hair for years now and I’ve used a wide range of flat irons and products along the way, but I’ve never used anything like the Remington Keratin and Argan Oil Straightening Brush. This straightener is a plug in device which straightens and smooths while you comb it through your hair just like using a normal paddle style hair brush. I was sceptical at how this would hold up against my beloved GHD’s, however I’ve found it does a few things that my GHD doesn’t. Continue reading
Going to the makeup section of a department store can get pretty overwhelming. There are so many products to choose from. You’d need to spend hours to take a look at them all (sometimes I do!). In that respect, Asian makeup does better than western brands. A lot of collections have adorable and eye-catching packaging.
Since I’m a cat lover, one way to get me to buy a product is to put some cute cat art on the box. If the product itself has some feline qualities, even better. Laura has kindly invited to share some of my favorite cat themed cosmetic items on her blog. Continue reading
Essence Cosmetics is a super cute and affordable makeup brand from Europe which is currently stocked in New Zealand by Farmers. The range is bright, colourful and fun, as well as being completely cruelty free. Recently I’ve been testing out a few of their products, a mascara, concealer and mini makeup sponges, and here’s what I think! Continue reading
Today I’m sharing my Bon Bon Bath and Beauty review after trying out this brand for the first time recently. I have followed this brand on Instagram for awhile now, mainly because their products just look so yummy, and was lucky to get two of their most popular products for Christmas. Something else which attracted me to the brand is that it is NZ owned and operated and completely vegan! The two products I tried are the Raspberry Gelato Scrub which is a body exfoliator and the Unicorn Fluff which is a thick body wash which can also be used for shaving. Continue reading
Here is Part 2 of my top beauty products of 2016. In Part 1 I focused more on my base and face products and found I am a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to my favourites. Today I’m sharing eye and lip products along with a bit of skincare. There’s a real mixture of brands here, are you the same or do you tend to stick to the same brand for a particular part of the face? Continue reading
Today I’m sharing my top beauty products of 2016! 2016 was a big year for beauty, there was sandbagging, strobing, spray on nail polish, lipsticks with real flowers inside them and who can mention 2016 beauty trends without giving Kylie and her Lip Kits a wink? I tried out quite a lot of new products and brands in 2016, but reviewing my favourites is quite interesting as I can see I have some ultimate favourites which may never change! However, I am very open to finding new favourite products in 2017! This is part 1 featuring mainly face and base products. Continue reading
