Awhile a go when I was asking around before a bit of a MAC haul for people’s essential holy grail MAC products, some recommended MAC’s Pro Long wear Paint Pot in ‘painterly’ and I will never be able to thank them enough. The Paint Pot is a highly pigmented eye colour/shadow which is very creamy and smooth in the pot but dries to a seamless coverage over the eye lid. Although it has that creamy formula and is cream based, it isn’t heavy and doesn’t cake. This makes it a must have eye product as an all over eye colour or a colour base.
I currently own two paint pots (‘Painterly’ and ‘Lets Skate!’) and have two others on there way *waits by letter box everyday*. I LOVE painterly, it is that must-have nude colour which also means that I get more wear out of it. I use it as an eye lid base with a shadow on top or as a nude eye colour by itself with a lick of winged black eye liner. Once that creamy formula has set, its there for the day. Painterly is often my go to shade/product for a neutral day look at work as it gives that done and polished look with out being OTT and I know it will last the whole day without coming off or moving around. It goes amazing under or with Naked 1 and Naked 2 shades.
Lets Skate! is a creamy pale pink with a gold shimmer through it, and the shimmers really show through so it would be more of a night time product. The glistening bits also give it a highlighting effect. I have only used this shade on its own over the whole lid, but I would love to (I now will, why didn’t I think of this earlier) try it as a brow bone highlighter. The only issue I have is that with this shade it seems that the gold flecks spread around a bit, like to your cheek, or the top of your lip, or your friends face even though you didn’t even get that close to her (it’s happened!).
My most favourite thing about the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots is that they last forever! The product as I mentioned before is highly pigmented and spreads easily, so you only need the teeny tiniest bit to cover the whole eye lid – so it’s totally economical and you aren’t just saying that to justify the purchase, it’s the truth!
Paint Pots can be found in any MAC store, I have purchased mine from MAC in Smith and Caugheys in Auckland, in duty free at Auckland airport and my latest ones are on their way via YouShop from maccosmectics.com
Below is my actual Painterly paint pot, I have had this one since September 2013, I use it super often and still haven’t used much!
