NZ Fashion Weekend hits high on my list of favourite Auckland events each year. The 2014 NZ Fashion Weekend comes this year with all our favourites plus a few new fantastic additions. Whether you are a fashion fanatic or just curious there is actually a little something for everyone.
Fashion Weekend spans over the 29th to the 31st of August, with an opening party on the Friday evening and then Saturday morning kicking it off with the Designer Garage Sale opening at 10am (9am if you purchase DGS VIP tickets). There are shows and sessions running throughout each day ( have a look at the schedule here), a ticket to any show gives you not only your seat but also entry to the venue for the day. In my opinion the brands and stalls inside the ‘Beauty Hub’ area have been getting better every year and this year you can also enjoy tunes from NZ Fashion Weekends elite sponsor George FM and swing by the Triumph & Disaster Bar. Last year I really liked the edition of the MAC pop up shop – it meant after watching the MAC seminar I could go grab all the goodies I had just seen, so hopefully it’s back this year!
$20.00 gets you entry to the venue including access to the Designer Garage Sale
$25.00 gets you a standard seat to a show or session of your choice and entry to all the venue goodies (Designer Garage Sale, Beauty Hub etc)
$40.00 gets you a premium seat (seated in the first two front rows) to a show or session of your choice and a goodie bag plus access to all the venue goodies.
♥ My Picks
Although every single show at NZFWeekend is sure to be amazing these are my top picks – maybe you’ll see me there!
YMCA & Raise Up Present Walk The Line
A unique young designers fashion show featuring incredible designs from high school fashion students. Trust me, you will be entertained and impressed with the level of skill and professionalism – the show is even organised and run by high school students.
MAC Techniques Session
“Led by M.A.C pro artist, the M.A.C Technique session is the sharpest, most stylish way to get the inside track on everything M.A.C artists are famous for.” I loved this show last year and can’t wait to be front row this year.
Huffer and Sly Guild
The ultimate street wear show featuring Kiwi favs Huffer and up and comers Sly Guild.
Stolen Girlfriends Club
“Rebellion, rock & roll delinquency, pop culture and the power to do things differently.” This is Stolen Girlfriends Club’s first time at NZ Fashion Weekend, I am really hoping they showcase some of their stunning jewellery along with their in-season collection
