The Stila Stay All Day Foundation is an oil free formula which is said to provide medium coverage with a matte finish which ‘stays all day’. Before being introduced to this product my only experience with Stila was being a massive fan of their Stay All day Liquid Liner. Years ago a makeup artist used this foundation on me and I loved the finish along with it’s staying power, so I picked up the Stay All day Foundation, Concealer and Brush Kit during one of my Thailand hauls. But for some reason I only very recently opened it up to use after I found my MAC Pro Longwear completely empty. I’m gutted I didn’t start using it earlier because it fits my skin like a glove!!!
The Stay All Day foundation has a creamy consistency which comes out of the jar with a little scoop that is attached to the lid of the container. I most commonly use foundations which have a pump or press/pour out, but prefer this little spatula as it is really easy to use and apply the product to a Beauty Blender with. The formula is quite build-able and very easy to blend. Although it is advertised as a medium coverage product if you use it along with a bit of concealer you can definitely get a full coverage finish. It really evens out my skin tone and gives me a flawless and matte look which is what I prefer with my more oily skin.
In regards to the ‘stay all day’ claims Stila pulls through! It lasts flawlessly through a full day at work and into the evening. I find that heading towards the 12-13 hr mark it starts to look a little patchy and begins wearing off but for me that’s at the point where I am getting ready to wash my face anyway. Touching it up with some powder gives you an even longer wear.
I wear the shade ‘Bare 1’ and it works really well with my skin and has never oxidised and changed colour. There is quite a wide range of shades but availability seems to depend on where you are buying it from. The foundation is also fragrance free which I like.
The Stila Stay All Day Foundation can be purchased on it’s own or as a kit (which is what I have). The kit is good value for money as it comes with a matching concealer in the lid along with a small mirror and a mini foundation brush. As I mentioned above I purchased mine in Thailand from Sephora, however it is available from Mecca Maxima, Beauty Bay and the offical Stila website.
♥ Final thoughts
I really like this foundation and it has become the favourite of my stash at home. I’ve been using it for days at work when I want a bit more coverage than my usual tinted moisturiser and have always been really impressed with the finish and the results. It is a product which I will repurchase as soon as it runs out.
