Mecca Maxima is finally here in Auckland! Not only does it stock a whole tonne of brands which were hard to get hold of before, but the store is absolutely beautiful and the staff are friendly, helpful and not annoyingly pushy or in your face. My friends and I stopped by (and but stopped by I mean spent a decent hour and a bit here) during it’s opening weekend. We got there reasonably early in the day which meant we bet the crowds a little bit, however there was a line waiting to get in as we left. Continue reading
This weekend, popular online makeup store Beauty Bliss opened it’s Auckland store in NewMarket. The opening kicked off with an event on Saturday with goodie bags for the first 20 people through the door, cupcakes and product demonstrations.
One of my best friends and I decided to head in to check it all at what we thought was an early time to maybe have a chance at a goodie bag. But turns out some girls had been there since 3am with more arriving to line up at 5am! We went and had breakfast and checked out a few other stores before lining up to get inside. It’s not often I head in to NewMarket so it was good to have a wander around. Continue reading
NYX has been a brand in my collection for a long time now, I have specifically always been a big fan of their lip products. Also now NYX is much more accessible than in the past with it being stocked at Farmers in Auckland CBD and in more stores to come. Today in celebration of NYX being available in more Farmers stores NZ wide from the 14th of June I wanted to show you my all time favourite NYX product – the NYX matte lipstick in the shade ‘natural’. Last weekend I went to the first ever Talk Beauty NZ event in Auckland and it was amazing! Talk Beauty NZ was a blogger event created to bring NZ bloggers and companies together. Not only did I get to learn about some fantastic companies and products, but I made some new friends too! Oh, and did I mention that the goodie bag was the most incredible goodie bag I have ever received in my life?!? It was like ten Christmas’ at once emptying out the bags! I thought I’d share with you some information about the products we got to see and play with and also give you a peek into the goodie bag.
With NYX hitting the shelves at the new Farmers Queen Street, nothing could hold me back from a NYX Haul. I really love NYX but because of the availability issue here in NZ I haven’t bought anything from the brand for quite awhile. We could say that I was well overdue for a bit of an NYX haul, so let’s have a look at what I got! If you want to know more about NYX coming in NZ click here for all the details. And if you are interested in what the pricing is like, scroll down to the bottom of the post to see what it all came to.
NYX hits New Zealand Stores next Thursday in Auckland. With the opening of the brand new Farmers on Queen Street comes NZ’s first ever NYX stand. I am so excited about this and can’t wait to not only see NYX in store, but also Continue reading
Driving past Westgate in West Auckland, you may have noticed that there are a lot of changes going on. Auckland Council is bragging about the big one billion dollar transformation which will bring a new town centre, more jobs and even some new housing. However my eyes are on the brand new NorthWest Shopping Centre! Nothing gets me more excited than a new opportunity to shop, in fact when I first saw the billboard announcing the new mall I had to pull over and take a closer look.
Plans show a very modern looking two story shopping centre with shared transport areas as well as shared outdoor community spaces. Continue reading
Since summer is creeping around the corner – see, up there! Where I’m pointing in the distance! So I’ve decided to do a bit of a summer mini series. The plan is a post a week leading up to summer with a different focus each time. Today, I want to share with you my plans for the summer break! I’d love to know what you are all getting up to, whether you are having a big family Christmas, spending all your time off at the beach or heading to somewhere amazing for New Years. For me, my break starts in two and a bit weeks!
I am lucky to be in a position to get school holidays off, my last official day of work is the 9th of December and it is going to be all go from there! My time leading up to Christmas will hopefully be a mixture of preparation and relaxation. I’ll need to get my Christmas shopping done and also get organised for my big trip (more about that below!). But I also want to spend as much time as possible at the beach, catching up with friends and heading out to events – who else is going to Ragamuffin and Katy Perry? Continue reading
October is when I start really looking at plans for the end of the year. I can tell you right now that at this exact moment I have 41 days until I finish work officially for the year, there’s 58 days till Christmas and then 65 days until my Thailand trip! It’s been strange getting use to the lighter evenings these last few weeks, but I have really enjoyed it because I have had quite a few late nights at work and it has been nice not to be getting home in the pitch black. My skin and allergies are still playing up, so again this month I have been in and out of the doctors and haven’t been able to wear much makeup either. Despite that and working A LOT, I have managed to have a few fun times this month and have successfully been sugar free for the whole month!! Woo hoo!! Continue reading
It’s no secret that I am quite a fan of heading out for a bit of shopping whenever the moment allows. Whether I am looking for something in particular or just having a browse, I love looking around the stores seeing what’s on sale and also testing and swatching products. And let’s be honest, there is always at least one or two things on my shopping want list! Shopping is something I really enjoy doing, even just window shopping with my best friend Melissa can set us in for a full afternoon of laughter and singing along to the stores radios. I often get a bit sick of shops in Auckland when comparing our malls and shopping districts to those overseas as each Westfield can start looking really similar. But it’s really not all that bad and there are some great beauty finds if you know where to look!
When I do start getting a bit over it all I go to a mall which is outside of my usual area for something a bit fresh (maybe it’s really a sign I should go shopping less?!) Today I have done a bit of a summary about my favourite places to shop in Auckland organised by area and have even thrown a few clothing and bits and bobs stores in there too. I’d love Continue reading
