In the last few months I decided to stop lusting over hair goals and firstly, start focusing on how I’m going to fix my damaged hair. Years of home and salon bleaching in a range of blonde, white and grey shades has left my hair pretty damaged. My mid-lengths to ends are dry, my roots are oily and I have broken hair around my ears and right under at the nape of my neck from over bleaching. By adding a few extra products to my hair routine and changing some habits I have managed to help a lot of the damage. Grey hair seems to be everywhere at the moment, I love it but I wondered, can I pull it off??! Before now it seemed to be a colour that you wouldn’t willingly dye your hair to be. Blonde, yes. Red, stunning. Purple, trendy, Green tips, so Kylie Jenner! But grey…. However it seems that going grey isn’t just for the ladies down at the local bridge club or RSA anymore!
I first spotted one of my favorite youtubers Samatha from Batalash rocking the ashy grey hair look. She looks stunning with it, but the thing is, she always looks stunning! I started to think about making a change from blonde to a grey more and more, but I couldn’t help thinking if it was just that I like the colour on her or whether I actually really liked the colour and would like it on myself. Do blondes really have more fun?!? Short answer: yes! Real answer: Only when they aren’t busy using copious amounts of purple shampoo. Being a blonde can be tough work! Lighter coloured hair naturally shows flaws more easily so it needs extra care, and also there’s the case that there aren’t actually many ‘real’ blondes around meaning a lot of regular trips to the hairdressers.
