This month I found myself unintentionally involved in No Buy July. A time of the year where people use a cute rhyme to try and stop spending so much money or ban themselves from buying particular items. I’ve never really thought to get involved in one of these month goal things because I believe if you want to do something or change something then there’s no better time than now. Also, imagine having to wait to start a goal until a month came around which you could rhyme with! But, at the start of the month without realising it, I declared to myself and a few friends that I wasn’t buying any makeup this month – and accidental No Buy July begun. Continue reading
A Bangkok Beauty Haul and shopping guide to kick off 2016! And no, you aren’t having major dejavu. I managed to end up in Bangkok again (exactly one year later!) and of course there’s a beauty haul to prove it. We spent two solid days out exploring the city visiting malls, shopping squares and markets and it’s safe to say that my luggage came home quite a bit heavier as a result. Continue reading
You may have noticed that I’ve got a thing for MAC, so much so that I often have a bit of a MAC wish list going on. When I see a product I like I add it to the list, look up swatches and reviews, ask friends about them and then finally go on a bit of a shopping spree either in store or online. I’ve got a bit of a list at the moment and I would love to see what you all think. Also, tell me I’m not crazy, you all have wish lists hidden away too right?!? Continue reading
I’ve had a few new things arrive recently and I wanted to share them with you, I’ve jumped into the Colourpop trend and decided to try something new to whiten my teeth.
My gorgeous friend Candy and I decided to go halves on a Colourpop order. I have been seeing this brand everywhere! And although I don’t want to be all same old, I had to try it for myself.
I grabbed a lippie stix, a lippie pencil, two eye shadows and a blush. So controlled right? I just wanted to order a few things that would give me a feel for the products and the brand (plus I am trying to not go overboard on the spending as holiday plans are unfolding!).
Above are the two lip products I bought. On the left is the lipstick in the shade ‘Brills’ and on the right, the lip pencil ‘pepper’. I really like the consistency Continue reading
So what did I get up to last Friday night, and more importantly what do I do over the long Easter weekend? The long weekend was nice and relaxed for me and also marked the start of my two week break from work, woo hoo! My highlights of the four days include a new hair colour, relaxing, shopping, a blueberry latte and my baby pomeranian’s first birthday party. Continue reading
Driving past Westgate in West Auckland, you may have noticed that there are a lot of changes going on. Auckland Council is bragging about the big one billion dollar transformation which will bring a new town centre, more jobs and even some new housing. However my eyes are on the brand new NorthWest Shopping Centre! Nothing gets me more excited than a new opportunity to shop, in fact when I first saw the billboard announcing the new mall I had to pull over and take a closer look.
Plans show a very modern looking two story shopping centre with shared transport areas as well as shared outdoor community spaces. Continue reading
This Saturday I ended up grabbing a few items on a day out and about – which turned into a bit of an unexpected random weekend haul – but seriously almost every store I walked into was having a sale. I also haven’t gone out and purchased make up in what feels like truly forever as I have decided to be bit more careful with my money at the moment. But it’s cool right? Because almost everything was on sale (nod your head with me here). Any ways have a peek at the bargains I picked up! Continue reading
I’m not the only one that goes out just for a normal, average Saturday and ends up with a few little bags of beauty products right?!? A few of these bits I had in the back of my mind that I needed to pick them up at some point Continue reading
The excitement and general jolly-ness of purchasing something online makes me all warm and toasty inside. I generally think very carefully about my online purchases and spend a lot of time shopping around to get the best deal, so when I finally decide to click that ‘check out’ button you know something good is going down (to the local or not so local post shop). That happy heart rate increases again as soon as you get a friendly ‘your parcel is on it’s way’ message, but then comes the dark hour/days/weeks/omg please no not months of waiting. And waiting, and waiting. Have a look at my guide/list of how to get through this troubling time! Continue reading
