Last weekend I went to the first ever Talk Beauty NZ event in Auckland and it was amazing! Talk Beauty NZ was a blogger event created to bring NZ bloggers and companies together. Not only did I get to learn about some fantastic companies and products, but I made some new friends too! Oh, and did I mention that the goodie bag was the most incredible goodie bag I have ever received in my life?!? It was like ten Christmas’ at once emptying out the bags! I thought I’d share with you some information about the products we got to see and play with and also give you a peek into the goodie bag.
After meeting up with some of the other girls who were attending the event for lunch and coffee we headed over to The Crew Club (the old Waterfront Bar, it’s been done up and is a trillion times nicer). We were greeted by the host, Brittany, and of course took a few selfies and snaps before the presentations began. Sophie from Kevin Murphy spoke to us about some of their new products and also their brand Eleven, which is already a big favourite of mine. I was impressed to learn that their products are PETA approved and also that Kevin Murphy is an actual person! Sophie also helped me finally decide that I need to get a curling iron and start playing with curls more. Tomorrow I am swapping my usual dry shampoo for the Kevin Murphy Doo.Over, a dry shampoo finishing hair spray. I love products which can do more than one thing!
Next we were introduced to Cailyn Cosmetics and Blinc, the products from both of these brands really got me excited. The Cailyn Cosmetics O! WOW Brush is the softest brush I have literally ever felt and I fell in love with their liquid lipsticks which have shade matches to Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits. Blinc is a brand which focuses solely on eye makeup products and specifically caught my eye as the products work well for those with sensitive skin and people who get dermatitis, like me! I am really excited to try their mascara as it creates a tube around the lash amplifying the natural lash and actually washes off as a little mini lash tube.
My skin has been playing up a bit lately, so I was lucky that Enbacci Skin care was there to give me some tips. I love that this range is unisexed and how it’s a family business. Their Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Scrub feels so good so I am looking forward to trying out more and hopefully clearing up my skin!
I had heard of Gem Box before but never given it a go. At the event we got to check out all the ranges of different styles you can order from this NZ based jewellery and accessory themed subscription box service. I took home the Urban Edge box and it’s definitely something I want to look into more and maybe sign up to.
Alright, so the part you’re all waiting for, the goodie bag. I was honestly astonished at the amount of amazing products we were gifted to try out from a huge range of brands including the ones which presented at the event and also brands like Lush, Australis, Maybelline, L’Oreal, Billion Dollar Brows, Mary Kay, Mellow, Collection Cosmetics, Skinfood and so many more! I am so excited to try out everything and do a huge mass of reviews!
Talk Beauty NZ was such a great event, I had so much fun and just seriously cannot get over all the new products I have to share with you on the blog. I’d like to thank Brittany for putting together such a great day and all the fantastic sponsors!!
